QuickBooks Integration - Changing Shipping/Billing Name should not create multiple users of the same account
Basically the goal is so that customers in our BigCommerce store are able to change the shipping address and/or billing address for orders they place without it creating a duplicate user in QuickBooks that has the same name but different details.
The main field that is being referenced for accounts appears to be the First name & Last name on the BigCommerce account, so when this changes due to shipping to a different address or using different information for a credit card, it creates a new user in QuickBooks.
We are hoping that QuickBooks could instead be configured to pull a constant field that doesn't change to prevent duplicate users from being created, such as the email address.
An example of this for reference would be similar to how an Amazon account is used. The account uses 1 email to log in, but several different credit cards could be added to the one account. Perhaps the user wants to send a gift to someone, so the shipping name and address for orders will be different at times. We want to have that same functionality, and for Quickbooks to understand that despite those changes in billing and shipping info, all of the data should be pulled into QuickBooks under that same user. I am hoping that changing the field that is the main reference point to something like the email address would be able to resolve the issue of duplicate users being created.
Is this something you would be able to create?
I agree. I would like to use a custom field in Ecommerce site and match it with the Account number in QB. That way customer like me that use Account Numbers can always match, but in the example above they can use any data in their Ecommerce and enter that unique key in QB account number field. It will always be an exact match, and if there are multiple users in the ecommerce site, they can be assigned this unique key and all will match to the same QB customer record.
