Query by Order Number vs Sales Record Number
It is exceedingly difficult to pair the orders in ebay that were mapped incorrectly with your manual sync. The 6-digit “Order Number” that is revealed when mousing over the name in the Map Product field is actually the “Sales Record Number” per ebay and the “Order Number” is a 12-digit number with dashes.
You order previewer only accepts the 12-digit numbers for manual queueing. I don’t get any returns from the Sales Record Number that you call the “Order Number” in the mapping.
This order from ebay has an “order number” of 01-06733-00529 and a “sales record number” of 12884.
This order is from earlier this week and has fully cleared the system. It should work. However – when I attempt to queue this order in the Previewer, only the ebay Order Number works.
Because the Map Products field only gives me the Sales Record number, I would need to reference each Sales Record Number (which is essentially useless without Manual Queueing Support) with the 12-digit Ebay order number.
Note that this should be either the ebay order number to keep terminology synced, or should show the actual order number and not the sales record number.
The Resync Button was helpful because it did this automatically. If we are forced to lose the Resync Button, we should at least be able to manually sync with the Sales Record Number. And beyond that it should just be listed as a column, the mouse over is one more steep. I would say that the channel column is relatively useless compared with the Sales Record Number.
Upon review of eBay’s developer SDK (software development kit), the functionality requests is currently not available, sadly.
Specifically, eBay does not allow third parties to query transactions via the order number.
We will continue to periodically review eBay’s SDK and revisit if they enable this functionality.
Do you mean to say that ebay allows you to pull the Sales Record Number for use in the Product Mapper but explicitly denies you from pulling the Order Number?
Another example as to why this recent change to Product Mapping is particularly egregious:
I just resolved some Mapping Issues and when I clicked SAVE SETTINGS, that list of orders with errors was erased.
This means I have to go into the Rules Engine, find the names of the products that generated the rule, then find that sale in ebay, then copy each ORDER NUMBER (ebay's Order Number, not yours), then add them into the Manual Sync as what you call "Order IDs."
That's a lot of work.
Hi, thanks Chris for adding this on my behalf. I do have to say that the title is actually in reverse. The effective way to query would be by Sales Record Number, as that is what is displayed by the Product Mapper Mouse Over.
